Beautiful culture lands, owned by private parties (I'm not sure who, probably a former textile tycoon), but it's open to the public, this saves them a lot of taxes. There are more of these around Enschede: very beautiful culture grounds, forest, greenlands with a huge house on it here and there. You can park your car here for a walk, but also go there by bicycle and tour over the premises by bike. Some of the buildings/houses are guarded by dogs (they bark but don't bite)
