The shrine of the guardian god of Osaka Castle, with ties to the Toyotomi family. Its vicinity was the residence of the makers of comma-shaped beads and gems in ancient times.

衣食住の女神がご祭神 社伝によれば垂仁（すいにん）天皇18年の秋にお祀りしたのが始まり。当時は比売社（ひめのやしろ）と称していた。聖徳太子（しょうとくたいし）がこの地に布陣し、戦勝を祈願したといういい伝えがある。戦国時代に荒れはてたが、慶長8年（一六〇三）に豊臣秀頼（とよとみひでより）により社殿が再建された。現存する鳥居は当時のものである。その後何度も焼失し、昭和29年（一九五四）氏子らにより現社殿が建立された。 Originally dedicated to the goddessof food, clothing and shelter,about 2,000 year ago, this shrineis visited by those wishing successand prosperity in business, peace in the home and prosperity for theiroffspring
