This course has come under new ownership and gone through extensive renovations. Even before the updates it was one of my favorites as the atmosphere is laid back with sheep roaming the course and very friendly staff. The 17th green is a replica of the famed island green at TPC Sawgrass (the course was designed by Pete Dye’s son Perry). There may be cheaper golf on the Big Island, but there isn’t a better value. It’s also cooler due to the elevation, and there’s some spectacular views on the drive. From town head up Palanai Rd which is also Mamalahoa Hwy for about 19 miles.

A little distance but the nicest public golf (other than at the resorts) course we think. Hit out to an island on the 17th hole.
