The Castillo de la Real Fuerza Castle is a great sample of military architecture during the Spain's rule over the Caribbean. It is located in the Plaza de Armas Square in Old Havana facing the sea. The Castle, as well as the rest of the old city’s fortifications, has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

One of the first castle built by Spanish. The museum is interesting with history about Havana and the Spanish galleons. You can also admire la Giraldilla: the statue symbol of Havana.

Address: Plaza de Armas e/ O'Reilly y Av. del Puerto, Habana Vieja. Description: This fort, now turned museum contains quite a bit of silver, gold, coins and jewels found on ships that had sunk or had been attacked by pirates and then sunk off the coast of Cuba. It also contains small replicas of the Niña, Pinta and Santa Maria. This museum is worth the small entrance fee as there are several rooms of interesting items to see plus you can go upstairs on the top of the fort for a nice view.
