Ábendingar heimamanna
The Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, in Osage County, Oklahoma near Foraker, Oklahoma, is owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy. It is protected as the largest tract of remaining tallgrass prairie in the world.
Watch one of the last wild herds of buffalo roam the plains. It's nearly always possible to see the bison, and you may see more than you want! Sometimes they come right up to the car. (Stay inside; bison can make a 6 ft vertical leap.)
Beautiful scenery with alot of wildlife including deer and buffalo. Beautiful evening drive to enjoy an Oklahoma sunset.
you can drive through the preserve and see bison and other wild animals. It is the "largest protected remnant of tallgrass prairie left on earth". Enjoy the visitors' center, and learn about the tallgrass ecosystem.
