Sudeley Castle was home to Queen Katherine Parr who is buried here in the chapel. It is a private residence but parts are open to regular tours.
Wonderful walks and a great day out. Winchcombe is the perfect village to explore and have lunch in.
Home of Henry VIII's final wife....phew she had a lucky escape and lived in rather a nice house on the other side of Cheltenham. This is a great day out, they often have re-enactments, music festivals and light shows - All saints and Sara Cox played there one! Winchcombe Village is also really…
Today Sudeley Castle remains the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within the grounds - Queen Katherine Parr, the last and surviving wife of King Henry VIII – who lived and died in the castle. Sudeley Castle & Gardens are just a couple of miles from the Barn Annexe.

“Children love Cattle Country there is loads of indoor and outdoor play equipment for all ages as well as boats to row, farm animals (donkeys, sheep, rabbits, pigs...) and a splash pool for the kids to cool off in on hot days so you need to pack swimmers. There is a lovely cafe there but you can take your own picnic and picnic areas are available. ”

“The Kitchen is a fabulous and well regarded ‘go to’ in Minchinhampton. Assumpta and Peter are very warm and friendly, super hosts. Their breakfasts are spoken about and recommended by all that eat them! Their cream teas are devine and there is so much more on offer. All, just a couple of minutes walk from Bakers Cottage.”

“Difficult to park however it is so historical, dating back to medieval times. It has the tomb of Edward II, modern 20th centuary art, stained glass windows, a beautiful cloister and a new garden to the front.”
