Hiking in the Columbia River Gorge is absolutely stunning. There are many awesome hikes and trails, but one of my favorites that offers spectacular views and a good hike but not super difficult is Angels Rest. It is not an easy hike either, but the reward is at the very top.

It's only about 30 minutes away with good traffic and worth the drive if you want a quick hike. On sunny weekends it gets extremely crowded, but if you start at the trail head around 7, it's not bad at all. I've done this hike around 60-70 times training for mountaineering expeditions, and prefer…
