The Foxfire Mountain Swinging Bridge is the longest of its kind in the United States and can be found along the hike by Prosperity Mountain and Lost Mine Falls. The bridge crosses 70 feet above the Little Pigeon River along the hour-long self-guided tour. In other words, if you’re not okay with heights then this might not be the best idea for you! Especially since the swinging bridge does follow its name and swing gently with winds. However, if you’re not squeamish around heights or you’re willing to give it a try, the Foxfire Mountain Swinging Bridge offers some truly unique views of the landscape. You can see the tops of trees and peer down into luscious valleys while taking in the panoramic views all around you. You’re also likely to see a number of wildlife traversing the area below and around you ranging from birds to deer and more.
