Monarch Cakes has been baking from the same recipes for over 80 years, handed down through generations from Austria, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and France. It's hard to go past the Koogglhoupf or the custard vanilla...

An Acland St institution, this has great cakes and pastries. Nice to have a coffee and a flan in a low key European setting.

OMG pastries. Been here since forever and they do amazing pastries. Def recommend checking out. (No good for those on a diet. Or those who don't do carbs/sugar).

Great place for the famous Monarch cakes if you have a sweet tooth, the whole street has many different cake and pastry shops to try!... at Monarch, try the CHOCOLATE KOOGLHOUPF! Nom nom nom
