Manzanar is most widely known as the site of one of ten American concentration camps where over 110,000 Japanese Americans were interned during WWII from December 1942 to 1945.

There is a museum here of the Manzanar Interment camp. The guest house is a barrack from Manzanar. It is interesting, little known history of our country during WWII.

Officially titled the "Manzanar War Relocation Center," this place was home to 110,000 Japanese americans during World War II. Walking around this compound gives you an eerie feeling of a hidden past.

In 1942, the US government ordered more than 110,000 men, women, and children to leave their homes and detained them in remote, military-style camps. Manzanar War Relocation Center was one of these.
