The Lennon Wall or John Lennon Wall is a wall in Prague, Czech Republic. Once a normal wall, since the 1980s it has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti, pieces of lyrics from Beatles' songs, and other designs relating to local and global causes

The John Lennon Wall in Mala Strana is one of the “cool” places to visit in the city and everybody wants a picture from here :-)

This is a place with nice atmosphere. Not only due to the wall. This place is a bit aside the mass-tourism. The area gives an impression of a historic Prague with alleyway, nice pubs and coffe bars. The wall is nothing incredible, but it is an interesting stop if you are in the area. It is not really related to john Lennon. The wall has become a symbol for love, peace and human expression.

Once a normal wall, since the 1980s it has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles' songs. The wall was a source of irritation for the communist regime. Painting of the wall by young Czechs led to a clash between hundreds of students and security police on the nearby Charles Bridge. The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint. Even when the wall was repainted by some authorities, on the second day it was again full of poems and flowers. Today, the wall represents a symbol of global ideals such as love and peace.
