KEGONJI TEMPLE got its nick name "suzumushi dera" which literally means cricket temple, because the monks of the temple raise bell crickets and they sing all year round.

One such delightful oddity is Kegon-ji, or more famously known as Suzumushi-dera, the “Cricket Temple.”
