This impressive structure & the old bridge are well worth visiting & part of the history of the area. Access to the roman site is also here. It is very photogenic!

Walk along the River Tweed and find the 3 bridges crossing the River Leader. Cross the footbridge into Melrose and follow the path that runs just behind the Abbey. Great place to take photographs at anytime of day. If your feeling energetic walk on to the Old Melrose Cafe and Bookshop for great scones (check opening times).
