Fábrica da Pólvora (Powder Factory). It was abandoned for years after it exploded. Now you can visit its facilities, and see how gunpowder used to be manufactured here. It has cafés, restaurant, and amphitheatre, a park, a university, a museum, and it's a great little getaway from the buzzling city!

If you have a car, I recommend a visit: It is an old factory, of gunpowder, whose building was preserved and transformed into a leisure area. Good to enjoy nature, lovely gardens and good restaurants, and park for children.
