Talimena State Park marks the Oklahoma entrance to the Talimena National Scenic Byway, a winding road through the Winding Stair Mountains that is known for spectacular spring and fall foliage. Hiking and backpacking trails throughout the Ouachita National Forest begin at Talimena State Park and offer a wide range of scenic, wooded terrain. Dirt bikes and ATVs are permitted in the park as an entrance point to the national forest lands.
