Walpole Bay tidal pool is good fun if you fancy a dip or a paddle. We go crabbing there with the kids. You just need some bacon and can pick up crab lines from the pound shops next door to Cliffs Cafe on Northdown Rd. You can also take a disposable BBQ down with you or picnic and watch the amazing sunsets.

Walpole tidal pool is a lovely place to swim or join a swim club. Have a swim and see if you felt powerful with the sea view opposite.

If you like sea swimming this is a place to swim safely, the tides and currents around Margate are strong and even confident swimmers can get caught out and it's of historic importance.

A short walk along the seafront is Walpole Bay Tidal pool, head over for an invigorating sea swim and a rest on the beach. Haeckels bathing machine is also moored here so you can have a sauna before you take the plunge!
