Astonishing view on the Adriatic sea, Boka Bay and whole Montenegro, even can reach the Italy coast on nice weather... Drive up to the mausoleum, you will experience awesome views. Roads are narrow but being re surfaced. You need to pay cca 2 euros per person to enter the national park. Walk up to the mausoleum by 400 odd step that is fairly easy, as steps are well maintained. Touring the mausoleum makes it clear to the unfamiliar how important Njegos was to Montenegrin history. The platform affords excellent views in all directions.

One of he most important sightseeing places to visit in Montenegro. If you make a tour through Cetinje, you should definitely go on and see this.

Get away from the summer heat of Kotor and head inland to the National Park. The views are breathtaking and it feels like you are at the top of the world at the Mausoleum!

The Petar II Petrović Njegoš Mausoleum on Mt Lovćen is an important landmark in Montenegro. It’s a dedication to one of Montenegro’s greatest sons, a teenager who found himself in charge of an unrecognised country of feuding tribes surrounded by powerful armies. Njegoš used courage and cunning to unify and defend Montenegro, while also writing several books of epic poetry. It’s fitting then, that Petar II Petrović Njegoš should be honoured with this impressive mausoleum on a beautiful mountaintop. The Petar II Petrović Njegoš Mausoleum is a popular attraction and a must-see in Lovćen National Park.

Petar Petrovic Njegos was a poet, bishop and philosopher who ruled Montenegro from 1830 to 1851. He was buried on Mount Lovcen. A hike of 461 steps brings you to his mausoleum and to yet another glorious viewpoint. The lookout offers 360 degree views of the Montenegrin coast, Lake Skadar, Albania and Croatia.
