One of the best beaches of Crete. It is an hour and 20 minutes away from Makry Gialos. The road is good but full of turns. You can enjoy a natural clay bath or a good meal at the tavern Costas.

Xerokambos is located 103km southeast of Agios Nikolaos, 47km south of Sitia and 69km east of Ierapetra. As evidenced by the long distances from the major cities of Lassithi, the settlement of Xerokambos is one of the most remote areas of the island. It can be accessed primarily through the road connecting the town of Sitia (and Ierapetra) with Ziros, while there is a second choice of asphalt road coming from Zakros. From Ziros, the paved road passes through some green plateaus and deserted medieval villages (Etia, Chametoulio).

Xerokampos, featuring a main stretch of beach with small, golden sandy coves and rocks protruding from the sea, as well as large and small isolated bays on either side, is one of Greece's most impressive and otherworldly coastal locations. Vourlia, a serviced, sandy beach, and Alatsolimni, featuring a salt marsh next to the sea, are located further north. Alona, also known as Katsounaki, is blessed with clear blue water. Caretta caretta sea turtles create nests on this beach's sea daffodil-covered dunes, as well as Roussospasma, a nudist beach. Next up is Hiona, a white sandy beach with shallow water offering a view of Grandes islets. It is followed by Kouremenos, a classic windsurfing spot.
