This sandy beach stretches 1/2 mile from Carrowmore quay to the Bunowen River and as well as being a beautiful sandy beach, it is one of Ireland's most unique wildlife habitats as it is backed by low machair grasslands and dunes that are home to many plants, birds and insects.

This is a beautiful beach for swimming & walking. Go early to get parking !

Blue flag beach. Located at short walk from house. A hidden gem is the Old Harbour at the top of the beach which us a must for a bbq. It's great for a family with small children as the beach is sheltered. Access the old harbour by car by taking left turn before the main car park on Carrowmore Beach. Don't forget the lifeguard is on duty when their flags are flying.

Just past Louisiburgh - first right turn is a really large beach - Carrowmore. Further out that road is a massive beach – Silver Strand.
