My favorite Indian restaurant in the neighborhood -- especially for lunch. They have great lunch specials for around $12 (includes appetizer + main course), and attentive service.

AMMA, our neighborhood Indian restaurant, is one block away and has great food and lots of vegetarian options. It's also on a lot of lists of top Indian restaurants in the city.

Lovely place for a night out a few blocks from MoMA. Amazing Indian food with a cross of upscale and living room feeling. Great as the event of the day or a bargain with their lunch special if you're here on a weekday.

This lovely Indian restaurant has a great menu and a wonderful, friendly owner--Amma--who will always make you feel welcome. Highly recommend the idly upma, chaat, okra raita, and zucchini dumplings, in addition to other Indian favs. Also, their virgin mojito is the most refreshing beverage around on a hot day.
