The Falstaff on Addington St might also be worth a look, they have a cobbled beer garden and they also have a lovely first floor private room. They used to do a very good Sunday Lunch, please enquire with them directly if interested. Internally I personally find it quite a quiet and sedate place if you are looking for that sort of peaceful environment but children are definitely welcome. The building also has an interesting Naval history...
