My grandma used to make the best melokia ever, and Cairo makes a pretty mean one too. It's seasonal, as all their food is, so you need to be here when it's fresh at the markets. Sit at one of the tables on busy Enmore Rd or in the very inner west courtyard, and sample absolutely delicious home made Egyptian food. Highly recommend the vegetarian plate - it's enough for two! And don't be afraid to have a dessert :) On the corner of Wilford St, only a hop, skip and a jump from Young Henrys.

Freshly made delicious Egyptian food. Watch the falafels being made while taking a seat on the street for some always interesting people watching. Don't fear the queue, it moves along quickly and it's worth the wait. Grab a BYO bottle of something different from P&V Wine & Liquor Merchants over the road.
