They have local artists and are close to downtown and Kalākaua Park. The building is beautiful and often will have concerts in the evening.

East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center (EHCC) is the central hub of the Hilo art scene, dedicated to preserving and sharing cultural, creative and traditional arts on the island. It has regular art exhibits and holds workshops and classes. EHCC was the first Hawaiian museum hosting a digital art exhibition and traveling tour on a worldwide scale in 2002 initiated by Dr. Rodney Chang, known as “Pygoya”, from Honolulu.
