The Zen Buddhist temple of the village, built in 1584. Amazing woodwork. You can go do zazen at 5am with the Abbott. Came to Nozawa from Kyoto, this is where Nozawa-na began when the priests brought Kyoto turnips, planted and grew into huge stalks in Nozawa that became the famous pickle, the beautiful yellow flowers bloom in May and Nov.
