From the Centre of Bari a train costing 5 euros and available approximately every hour can take you to the beautiful city of Monopoli.

Beautiful city to visit, very nice the old city. Many bars and restaurants where you can eat good food or drink coffee at the sight of a crystal clear sea. 30 minutes only by car or by traim from Bari. If you want, we can organize a day trip with me, to visit both Polignano a Mare and Monopoli.

Monopoli is the city in Apulia that has the longest stretch of the Via Traiana, one of the most important Roman roads of the Roman Empire build between the years 108 and 110 AD by order of the Emperor Trajan and named after him. In 2012 the city of Monopoli created an archeological park around the remains of this ancient road.

Enjoy and evening passieggata (stroll to be seen) along the town walls. Stop for an aperitivo at one of the many bars and watch the sun go down over the sea. Lots of cocktails to choose from and ask for Tris which is a trio of nibbles such as Olives, Nuts and Taralli. (Puglia circular dough rings)
