A nice walk along the riverside from the city center towards the public beach leads you to a fascinating place where historical wooden river barges and viking ships are built. You can even have a ride on either the river barge or the viking ship. For information see www.lodi.ee. Also, there is one of the first community gardens of Tartu.

The Barge House of Tartu sometimes hosts events but by navigating to the place, you will actually be able to discover Tartu's most popular sandy beach by the Emajõgi river, which is right next to it.
