Chautauqua Park is absolutely stunning and a must-see for anyone coming to Boulder. Whether you want just want to hang out and enjoy the view or hike up into the mountains, Chautauqua has it all.
Lots of wonderful hiking trails. The Dining Hall is a nice place to eat with local Colorado atmosphere. It is a treat to sit on the veranda and enjoy spectacular views of the mountains. You will need to pay for parking from May - September, so Google the free shuttle.
Be ready for a harder than it looks climb but beautiful views. Parking up here can be tough so try to either go early or park in a side street.
Chitaqua Park has the best hiking trails in a lovely setting just under the Flatirons. In front of the Chitaqua Dining Hall, which also has a great lunch/brunch/dinner, you can picnic on the green lawn with the mountains in the background.
