Impressive official city botanic garden. Grab some craft beer or NZ wine from the New World supermarket and head to the terraces on the hillside for a top-notch spot to relax on a summer night.

Because it is beautiful and there is a wee cafe there too. A very pleasurable experience.In October there is the famous Rhododendron Festival.

This is the oldest established botanical gardens in New Zealand. Well worth a stroll around in the many themed garden areas and enjoy the birdsong and relaxing environment.
