Westport is a very active fishing town with charters, commercial fishing, and recreational fishermen all working out of the Marina area. We highly recommend to start at the Harbor Resort and walk out on the docks to see the boats coming with the latest catch and watch all the crab pots and traps being pulled up from the docks. If you're feeling adventurous and want to try you hand at crabbing we're happy to help connect you with some hoops and talk you through the process!

Try your luck in crabbing and fishing or just enjoy watching sea life (sea lions, gray whales) and birds from a distance.

This is kind of a hidden gem. If you stay on Westhaven Drive downtown and go past the shops, and hang a bit of a right on Neddie Rose Dr past the Groins, you will end up at a round about and you can park and explore. There are a few shops down there and you can walk out on the boat docs as well. It is very neat down there.
