his popular destination in the Cohutta Wilderness Area requires the longest hike of all falls in Fannin County. Access from Fannin County is a 9.2 mile hike from Dally Gap along the Jacks River Trail. Jacks River Falls can also be accessed via an easier route from the Chatsworth side of the Cohuttas.

Jacks River Trail to Beech Bottom is in an absolutely gorgeous area with some stunning waterfalls. This is a very remote area with an abundance of wildlife. It is 21 miles from here, but takes right at an hour to get there. The last portion of the drive is all dirt roads and is slow going. Not the best road and a little rough in some places, but I can make it in my Prius if I dodge the rocks correctly. A SUV or truck would be more ideal for this one, but is manageable in a car if you are careful. Also, the trail is not clearly marked at all times and can be confusing, so I would definitely recommend printing or downloading a copy of the map to your phone. There are several creek crossings on this trail, so I would recommend bringing a pair of sandals or something to wear when crossing to not get your hiking boots wet. is a 14.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Epworth, Georgia that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. This an absolutely amazing hike, but due to its remote location, creek crossings, and lack of signage I recommend letting me give you the rundown and details before you go to make sure you end up at the correct trailhead and do not get lost. The hike is well worth the effort. I recommend downloading the AllTrails app to your smart phone. It is a free app and will provide you with directions, trail map, and a trail description. The free version of the app will get you what you need.

Fabulous hike. Pack a lunch and bring hammocks to really get off the grid for awhile!
