Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. It was originally a Guanche settlement. Masca is one of those special places in Tenerife that anyone visiting the island should get to see. The view from the top of the village is spectacular. In fact, for years the only means of communication with the rest of the world was the trail of Camino de los Guanches, linking Masca to Santiago del Teide. Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. The village is home to around 90 inhabitants. The village lies at an altitude of 650 m in the Macizo de Teno mountains, which extend up to the northwestern most point of Tenerife. Forests including cypresses and palm trees abound. The village lies at the head of the Masca Gorge. The trail from the village down the gorge to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean is a popular, though strenuous, hiking route, which takes about 3 hours each way.

very very beautiful the little way down the mountain hicking for now is closed you can go by boat from los gigantes they have a water taxi service with schedualed time

Beautiful village, unfortunately the walk to the coast is closed but still a lovely place to visit for lunch
