Batsford Arboretum open daily 10am-4pm and Falconry Centre open daily from 10:30am. The Arboretum is a lovely place for a stroll especially in Spring and Autumn. With children the bug trail map of the arboretum is excellent and there is a lovely “surprise prize” at the end for a small fee. There is also a good café which has recently been refurbished and garden centre which are free to enter.

Blenheim Palace (not NT) was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The villa, which was built in phases from the 2nd until the 4th Century and was discovered in 1864, features several fine mosaics, two bathhouses, a water-shrine and latrine. The site museum also houses objects from the villa which have been discovered during the excavations.

There is also a coffee shop serving refreshments. There is an excellent children’s play area with a wooden fort.
Stow on the Wold – Great Cotswolds town to visit with lots of shops, delis and eateries. A real foodies heaven! Car park at the bottom of the hill or along the street if you can find a space.

Cotswold Farm Park is within a 15/20 min drive. Owned by Adam Henson from Country File this is one of our favourite places for children in the Cotswolds. The farm specialises in rare breeds and has mini tractor rides, soft play, animal experiences, bouncy pillows and an interactive Rare Breeds through History trail. The farm is on an exposed hillside and is mainly outdoors so would only recommend in fine weather.

Today the former Corinium Dobunnorum is home to more than 18,000 people and a service centre for the thousands more who live in surrounding villages. In later years it was a very prosperous medieval wool town.
Cirencester's market square is dominated by the cathedral-like Parish Church of St. John Baptist (one of the largest in England). The large south porch with its impressive fan vaulting was built about 1490.
The town contains many interesting buildings spanning several centuries.
