A must go place in Cat Ba, the entry fees is 40k VND and it's absolutely worth it. The hike is through dense tropical jungle on limestone mountains in the heat and humidity which makes it a little tough. But as it not a long trail, it can be easily managed. In the end there is a point 100 m further of the small shelter. Please go till there as it is the absolute end and the Ngu Lam Peak. From there you will see entire island and the view is breathtaking which will make you forget all the tiring hike.

Just a scenic twenty-minute motorbike ride from Little Cat Ba is beautiful Butterfly Valley. Butterfly Valley is located in Lien Minh, the oldest village on Cat Ba and one of the most pristine areas on the island. The valley wall is a magnificent cut of superb limestone with over 50 sport routes available.

It's a very interesting and inspiring bit of history built into an amazing hunk of rock. Yes, it may only take 10 minutes to hurtle round, but if you take your time and soak up the atmosphere and take time to understand what actually happened there then you'll appreciate where you are and what the cave meant to the VC. Inspiring to see what humans can achieve in terrible circumstances.

Once upon a time, Tung Thu Beach was bustling like the Cat Co beaches, with a restaurant, cabanas, and the whole shebang on the shore, but for some reason all of these now lie abandoned. Tung Thu Beach is part of an ambitious real estate development project called Cat Ba Amatina. When we passed by its grounds on the way to the beach, though, there didn’t seem to be any work going on. It’s near by Little Cat Ba and it's still a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of town.
