Food Scene
Kneaders is a Utah legend. Their menu boasts the most delicious artisan sandwiches, pastries, and specialty breads. My favorite is the Pumpkin Spice Bread which will make you wish it were Fall all year long. My family loves to get the "All You Can Eat French Toast" which dances on your tongue in a torrent of perfectly married cinnamon and spice. Located right at the base of the mountain, you will want to go every morning for breakfast. And lunch. And maybe a few dinners in there, too.

Don't miss the mile-high biscuits and the famous chocolate pudding.

Well, it's basically ketchup and mayonnaise, sometimes with a mystery ingredient (often relish and cayenne pepper) whirled together into a creamy, pink concoction.
The ketchup-to-mayo ratio varies from establishment to establishment and the particular calibration of the mix is a matter of individual taste. It's hard to say who has the best fry sauce; it is, after all, a pretty simple condiment, but I've found that Hires Big H serves up an excellent emblematic cupful. It's a nice way to wind summer down, sit in the sun, eat a bratwurst and shop the trinkets in the vendor's area.

Spelunk Timpanogos Cave.
A national monument, Timpanogos Cave has ranger-led tours that take place after a steep 1.5 mile hike and often sell out, so book early. A national monument, Timpanogos Cave has ranger-led tours that take place after a steep 1.5 mile hike and often sell out, so book early. All are less than thirty-five minutes from our house, and living in (or visiting) Utah and not skiing or snowboarding is like living in California and never going to the beach. We've got a skier on our license plates for goodness sake! So take a lesson. Even if you're a great skier or boarder, a lesson is a great way to tune up your technique. All six of the Salt Lake-area resorts have excellent ski school programs and affordable lessons.
