Favourite beaches
Fantastic beach, great for surfing, body boarding, paddle boarding, walking or just sunbathing with great views! Lifeguard presence from 10am to 6pm. Gastro bus on site for drinks & food.
Parking is expensive (£10 in the summer!) but there is free parking on the lane from Bantham to Buckland (10 min walk, driver can always drop people & beach equipment in Bantham village first), or if you fancy a longer walk across farmland and along the river there is also free parking in Aveton Gifford (approx 1h).

Definitely a favourite with both locals and visitors, complete with cafe & Mediterranean vibes. However just be aware that the sand is coarser and the beach profile much steeper, meaning it becomes deep much more abruptly and may therefore not be as suitable for young children as most beaches in the area which are flatter

One of our closest and favourites, great if you're after smaller less busy places, with stunning walks along the stretches of sand at low tide and the possibility to walk over the river. We actually tend to go to the next beach as you walk a little further on the coastpath, approx 5 min, always quieter. Parking is free but limited on the side of the lane (narrow lane with passing places) so avoid arriving or leaving at the busiest times in the summer. There is an area for cars to turn around at the bottom of the lane just before the beach where you can also drop people & beach gear. The pub the Dolphin is a good place to stop by before or after ;-)
