Ahhh Bear River is a tiny village nearby. Like here on the hill, it has no cell phone coverage so come prepared to put your phone away, (unless you can switch to wifi calling)
It has a wonderful cafe serving its own fresh roasted coffee. The Sissiboo Cafe also hosts ongoing art shows in the Bear River and the Annapolis Royal locations. Sit and relax. the town also features three galleries full of amazing arts and crafts from the region and beyond. Flight of Fancy began as an artists' co-op 40 years ago. Blue Mind Gallery features the most local of creative artistic folks and Artworks is a co-op of a chosen few, local artists. The tides in the village are fascinating to see. Sit by the waterside in the park to experience the eagles and seabirds who frequent to area.

Digby is a long time fishing village grown up. There are great fish and chip places, the fishing boats are docked in town all year round, wander the main street and on the weekend the market on the malecon showcases local products. The views for sketching the fleet are easy to find and can be very satisfying.
