Explore tumbling waterfalls on our favorite hike at Carters Lake, crossing a towering bridge and hiking through a beautiful, lush forest on the Tumbling Waters Nature Trail. 1 mile hike (round trip); Easy to Moderate "A lush forest filled with fern and pine. Sweet-scented forest air. A towering bridge with great views of Carters Lake, and a set of spilling waterfalls. There’s a whole lot of beauty packed into this relatively short, and easy, hike on the Tumbling Waters Nature Trail. At one mile, round trip, and with gently rolling terrain, it’s a great hike for beginners and families with kids, and it’s dog-friendly, too. And bursting with scenic beauty, if you only have time to hike one trail at Carters Lake, you’ve found your adventure: the Tumbling Waters Trail is an absolute must-hike."

Hike the Benton MacKaye Trail a short half mile, roundtrip, exploring the cascading Fall Branch Falls waterfall and a shady, mossy forest near Blue Ridge. This short, beginner-friendly adventure on the Benton MacKaye Trail explores a scenic, lush forest and visits one of Georgia’s most beautiful waterfalls. While the hike to Fall Branch Falls is nearly all uphill, and mildly challenging, it’s well worth the effort: the waterfall’s double cascades are simply beautiful, framed in gnarly-branched rhododendron and mossy, blocky rocks. It’s one of the top easy hikes near Blue Ridge, thanks to its relatively short distance and wonderfully scenic beauty. Mossy forest, a clear mountain trout stream, and abundant sweet-smelling Georgia forest air are all highlights on this great hike, not to mention the beautiful waterfall.
