The entrance to the parkway is just 30 minutes away. The parkway is an absolute beautiful drive and if you enter the parkway off of Hwy 321, then take a left it takes you to Wears Valley... a quaint community outside of Pigeon Forge. (Going straight will dump you back onto 321, right will take you to a pretty but very curvy drive.)

The Townsend Wye is the area where Lamar Alexander Parkway intersects with Little River Road. It is not only an important directional marker in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but also a point of interest for swimming, picnicking, and hiking in the warmer months.

Located in Sweetwater, TN about 35 minutes from “The Empty Nest”. Your Lost Sea adventure begins with a guided tour of the caverns. This involves a ¾ mile round-trip walk on wide sloping pathways. While touring the caverns and underground lake the guides will tell of the cavern’s exciting and colorful history. They will also explain the fascinating geological development of the immense cavern rooms and rare formations. At the bottom of the cave you will take a boat ride on The Lost Sea, America’s Largest Underground Lake.
