The most laidback place to eat the best pizza's. It is on the beach called 'Vluchtenburg'. You can reach it by walking through the beautiful dunes or alongside the sea.

Very nearby and brand new. Three (surfer) friends who started a cafe in the middle of the dunes next to the 'seatower'. There goal: serve great food and drinks without using a single piece of plastic. And it all comes with one of the best views in Hoek van Holland.

Translated: 'The Balcony of Europe'. If you visit the 'Maasvlakte' this is the perfect final stop before going back to Hoek van Holland. At this snackbar you can eat typical Dutch fries while enjoying one of the best views in the Netherlands.

Things to see

A unique cultural landscape The town of Hoek van Holland originates from digging the Nieuwe Waterweg in 1872. In the following century, thousands of defenses were built on both banks to defend this new channel. These influences have been decisive in shaping the landscape of ‘the Hook of Holland’. Even today, the Hook is continuously subject to the influence of Rotterdam and the North Sea. If you pay close attention, you will notice this everywhere. A highlight is taking a walk along the Noorderpier or the Zandmotor at Ter heide. You can also travel by ferry to the Maasvlakte.
A wonderful peace of Dutch engineering and great place to cycle to. You can rent a bike on the campsite and have a great bike ride along the coastline with this (on)natural wonderland as a reward.

Want to learn how to surf? Visit (one of the three) surf schools that we have here. This one is the most nearby and has a great atmosphere.

Cycle or walk along the pier to the very end and just let your self be surprised by the strange combination between nature, industry and the local people of Hoek van Holland. Be sure to start or end at the beginning of the pier with a 'raspatat'. Special fries from mashed potatoes, brought to you by one the most worst and unfriendly service we have here :). It's part of the experience! And enjoy your strange fries while leaning against the bunker, with a view on the channel.

Truly Dutch culture: Man made and engineered land, nature and landscape. Up until the 70's this was just sea. If you have or rent a bike, you can take the ferry (Hoeksveer) from Hoek van Holland to Futureland and cycle through the harbors or visit future land and book a boat tour.

Harbour of Rotterdam by boat Between April and October you can pay a visit to the impressive harbours of Rotterdam by boat. The ''Hoeksveer' takes you on a 50 minutes tour and stops at Future Land. Here you can take an even bigger boat tour if you like. Or you can just take the same boat back.
