The Hastings Heritage Trail is a four-seasons, multi-use recreational trail that follows an old railway line linking Hastings County. The Trail is open year-round and boasts a number of parking lots and access points along the route. It welcomes hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, and recreational vehicle operators. Trails in Hastings County consist of a 156-km ribbon of land stretching from Glen Ross to Lake St. Peter, connecting them to the waterways of the Trent Canal System in the south and the edge of Algonquin Park in the north. Within the right-of-way of the Hastings Heritage Trail are waterfalls, wetlands, and relics of ghost towns like Brinklow. Within sight of the trail are historical buildings like Hogan's Hotel, built in 1862, and other significant trances of the builders of the rail line.

High Falls Hiking Trail - 1.9 km, 30 minutes 1 way or 1 hour for return Starting from the High Falls parking area, the trail follows an old road through a Red Pine plantation. It then becomes a footpath northward through hardwood forests on the west side of the York River. The trail connects with the first portage on the river then branches off to a rock point north of High Falls. From the end of the trail you have a view of the top of the rapids upstream of High Falls and a view downstream of the falls.

Great homemade Pizza and a range of other delicious options in Maynooth. http://thearlington.ca/pub/ For over 100 years, The Arlington has served the little village of Maynooth, Ontario. It has served as safe haven for the region’s travel-weary guests, provided shelter for the thousands of resource workers that peppered the area, and served up some the best times at its notorious bar, The Shot and Bottle Lounge. That bar was expanded in 1953 and today hosts some of the best musicians in Ontario.
