Once an abandoned limestone cutting mill (You've heard of The Cutters), lovingly restored by local electrical contractor Randy Cassidy in the interest of anchoring the South Side's emergence as a neighborhood of distinction. It's landscape architecture is stunning, and outdoor activities, farmer's market, and events are held all summer long. Also available for weddings and corporte events.

Multi-Use Pathway
The B-Line was initially created long after the railroads left town. It meanders and connects many vital parts of the city and outlying countryside and suburbs. Part of it runs through my front yard, outside your private porch. It will get you out into the country, along the Clear Creek, Switchyard Park, Woolery Mill, downtown, IU campus the town square, and many other parts of the city. The Rails to Trails program is an essential component of urban engineering and revitalization and Bloomington is an excellent example of why it works.

A few minutes by car, the Star Lite kept our community sane by staying open 7 nights a week during 2020, helping families get a night out with socially distanced movie viewing. This is a fun place, family owned and kid friendly, clean, and has a really good concession stand. Try the chicken alfredo pizza!

This is a fun place, family owned and kid friendly, clean, and has a really good concession stand. Try the chicken alfredo pizza!
Food scene
Newly named The Southern Stone has a creative menu, excellent bar and wine selections, deserts, and outdoor dining should you care to partake. I will warn you, the outdoor seating is on a busy intersection that is not at all quaint. I enjoy the indoor dining, Shrimp and grits, collard greens, and the fried green tomatoes are my personal favorites. Corner of Patterson and South Rogers, minutes away.
