A large lake, with clean water (even if it is murky, as it is quite shallow), there are some very cute hamlets all around it (Castiglione del Lago and Passignano sul trasimeno, for examples, but also Monte del Lago), 2 islands that can be visited with a ferry boat (one of the islands is a nature reserve), and there are several beaches with coffee bars, umbrellas and sunbeds for hire, that also offer canoes and paddleboats (at Castiglione del Lago) and also water skiing at the beach of Tuoro sul Trasimeno.
