Parks & Nature

Its perfect if you want to go on an early morning jog or bike ride. Its a beautifully scenic route to go on a walk/hike on. Its a paved road with some small grade hills, nothing to major. Its a walk around the Lake Chabot, you can also come here for a picnic. Theres are restroom stops along the paths, and water fountains. I highly recommend this place if you are an outdoorsy type of person.

Shopping

The Marina square is a quick 5 min drive away. It's an outdoor outlet shopping mall. I like coming here to save a couple of bucks at the Nordstrom Rack. Shopping wise theres Banana Republic Outlet, Nike Outlet, Pier 39, Bath & Body works, GAP, Converse, Pacsun, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and a few others. All outlets. They have a couple of places to eat there too, La Salsa, Pieology, Panda Express, and a Starbucks. Theres also this cool Mexican Food place overlooking the water about 5 min drive away called El Torito.

Food Scene

If your looking for Authentic Mexican food nearby, 2-3 min drive away I recommend Los Pericos. I actually grew up eating here actually so I Highly recommend this place. It's your everyday taqueria with super cheap tacos, and burritos with an open Salsa Bar and free chips. The open chip bar is probably the best part about this place. Theres also a Baskin Robbins right in front of the taqueria, and a bunch more places to eat nearby.

This is a higher end Mexican restaurant nested in the heart of Berkely perfect if you want to go on a date or take the family to dinner. Preferably in my opinion the former, but family's are welcome. :) No reservation is required, which I like but there will be a 15-25 min wait to be expected. There's two full bars, and while you wait you can actually go to the back patio which is pretty big, and order drinks and chips. This is common here so waiters are always walking around with Margarita and Chips carts. Theres also heating lamps for the colder Berkely nights. You can take public transportation here via Bart, get off on the Downtown Berkely Stop and its 3 blocks away. 20 min train ride.
