Fedo's is hard to find, but if you want cheap local food, this is it. Expect to pay $4-6 US for a rotis or burger. Rotis is their speciality, but get there by noon or they'll run out.

Orlando used to be the head chef at Ladera Resort's Dasheene restaurant. A few years ago he opened this little place in Soufriere. Dinner is $50 US or more, but we recommend going for the $10 US lunch between noon and 2pm. However, don't go if you're in a hurry — the pace is very relaxed.

Short, easy hike to stunning views of the north and of Martinique. It's got the ruins of lookouts from the 1700s. It closes at 5:00pm unless you're going to the restaurant, which is actually pretty decent.

Gros Piton
Tough hike, great views. Costs $35US/person. About 5 hours round trip.
If you are an experienced hiker and quite fit, this is an absolutely amazing hike. At the top you feel like you are standing on the top of the world. Don't attempt it until you do Gros Piton first — it's much more intense. Guide is about $100US per person.

Best snorkelling on the island. The Pitons tower above the swimming area. Very beautiful. It's a gated hotel and every year they seem to make it a bit more difficult to access (legally all beaches in St. Lucia are open to the public).

This beautiful beach is at the base of Gros Piton. It's a 15-minute hike down from the road (the dot on the map shows where to park).
You'll usually have it all to yourself, except for a couple of fishermen. It's an interesting place to snorkel, too — there is a sharp drop-off on the south side of the beach, almost like an underwater cliff.

This beautiful beach is at the base of Gros Piton. It's a 15-minute hike down from the road (the dot on the map shows where to park).

A $200M resort has been approved to go in at this location, so enjoy it while it lasts...

This is the best grocery store in Choiseul. It's a 6-7 minute drive from the house. (Note that the Massy in Vieux Fort is larger, so if you are in Vieux Fort you may want to stop there.)
