I'm a HUGE fan of Tacos (you'll see if you visit, I have a light up sign that says 'I LOVE TACOS' on my bookshelf and I've never been to a more friendly, authentic (in Colorado we LOVE to smother everything in green chile and serve it 'New Mexico' style - Tacos Junior does it MEXICO style), and clean place to grab some cheap grub. AL PASTOR is the best taco on the menu.
It looks like a dump from the outside, but it's magical goodness on the inside!

Ziggi's is local, relatively small, but has delicious coffee drinks and some of the most friendly baristas I've talked to. They are definitely a hot spot for work-from-home types and have comfy couches to lounge on.

What can I say about Zoe's - it is nice and big, couches, tables, live music on Saturday mornings and the owners are LITERALLY the most friendly people in the neighborhood. They are really great at recommending coffee drinks and will chat with you (if you want) about how your day is going. Great for a quick break and studying/working.

We're in the burbs, so we don't get a lot of non-chain restaurants - and Early Bird is the perfect place to grab brunch. Yummy menu and a very 'Denver city' vibe. Small space, so be prepared to wait if you go between 9am-12pm on a Saturday or Sunday, otherwise, plenty of seating during the week.

I friggn' LOVE Goodies. The staff is super friendly, the space is clean, and they have a huge menu of all the breakfast fixings you will ever need! Great for a quick bite to eat in the 'hood on your way to visit Denver.

Mmm... pho. You can't go wrong with a bowl of noodles and tons of meat. Pho 79 is one of the best pho restaurants in the neighborhood and it's good prices. Also - really great for takeout.

12 Volt is in Old Town Arvada, which is about a 20 minute drive down I-70 from my place. 12 Volt is a no B.S. dive bar with a HUGE mix of people - cheap drinks - and dirty floors. It's a fun bar with friendly staff and patrons.
