Great little local place - great for breakfast, coffee and catching up with the paper. The eggs benedict are my favourite.

Great authentic Italian nearby which reminds me of my experiences living in Rome. The odd celeb has been spotted in here - there's a good bar and tapas menu next door too.

Not least because Pulp sang about it - this place is a London institution. THE best coffee in London. Before or after a night on the town. Or as a hangover cure. Right in the heart of Soho.

London's most historic and unusual pub - enjoy a meal / drink out the back - and if the river Thames gets choppy, you might get wet feet. It's a lot of fun. Sunday roasts are tip top.

Drinks & Nightlife

Perfect spot in London to experience the best of street food & drink, the guys who run x7 markets in London have nailed this. And Dinerama is their best yet. Delve into a cocktail at the House of Bamboo - you might be lucky to get "locked in" after hours! You might like the duck burger at Duck N Roll. Great vibe here. Lots of music, different zones and great crowd.

Another market from the team behind Dinerama - this one is only 5mins cab ride from our home. My husband would eat here every weekend if he could.... Gorge on a cronut from the SE Bakery and wash it down with a Fish House Punch from the Rum Shack. Little gem of a place every weekend in the unlikely town centre of Lewisham.

Great selection of wines (over 100) and all served by the knowledgeable owner Jean-Philippe. All served with nibbles or cheese / charcuterie platters. Light bites available too. Local to our house and an unknown gem.

Entertainment & Activities

The ultimate tour of London - take things into your own hands, and conquer the iconic roof of The O2 - the most popular music venue on the planet. Stand atop the tented structure of The O2 and admire views of Canary Wharf, the Thames Barrier Reef, across to the Olympic Stadium and up the Thames into town. At the top, you'll be standing above the most popular music venue in the world - beneath your feet global megastars like Beyonce, Timberlake, Adele and The Rolling Stones have all performed. It's quite something to conquer the summit of The O2 and gain your street-cred as an "urban mountaineer".

This is an entertainment district under one roof. A beautiful white tented roof designed by Richard Rogers, originally to celebrate the Millennium in the UK. It now houses the world's most popular music venue (check it out on Pollstar) plus 24 bars & restaurants, an 11-screen cinema (including Europe's largest Sky screen), Brooklyn Bowl, a nightclub (Building Six), a roof walk (see separate Up at The O2 listing below) and attractions like the Nissan Innovation Station and a real life working Sky TV studios. Why do I know so much about it? For the past 4.5 years it's been my home from home. I run it with the most incredible team of people. Check it out.

You can walk here from our place. It'll take about 35mins to get into the park - the views from the terrace are stunning and worth the effort. The sweeping vistas go down to the Queen's House below and the Old Royal Naval College (where they filmed scenes for Pirates of the Caribbean) beyond, The O2 in the distance and up the Thames into central London. Pop into the Royal Observatory while up here, or stand astride the Meridian Line with a foot in both the Eastern and Western hemispheres. This is where time around the globe is measured from - GMT - Greenwich Mean Time. Cool or what?

Shopping

Recently renovated - this historic market is a must-visit in the heart of Greenwich town centre. Featuring about 10-15 food stalls (lots of vegan options but the churros are my favourite) there are plenty of places to pick up a souvenir, hand-made goods, books, artwork, photography and clothing especially t-shirts.
