Jackalope is such a unique coffee shop- very funky, creative vibe along with inventive drinks, the best bacon bun you ever did taste, and dog-friendly shop. Some coffee beverages are served in glass skull chalices. :)

Lina's Pizza is a local favorite-- delicious, easy, quick and very close to the Loft (though if you're looking for Chicago deep-dish, we would recommend elsewhere).

For our vegetarian and vegan guests, or anyone who just loves Mediterranean, we highly recommend Zaytune!!! Extremely tasty and top notch quality foods. We lose it over the baba ghanoush!

We adore our local beach! Extremely clean, family-friendly, convenient, and cheap parking (or free, if you park a few blocks west of the Lake).

Palmisano is a very unique local park, a city effort to maintain local prairie and flora- expect to find tons of little critters like crickets and butterflies. Walking trails, a duck pond, and an amazing view of the city's famous skyline from the top of the park's central hill.

For our visiting families, Wilson Park has a great little playground and it's just at the dead end of our block. Walk 2 blocks south and you'll run right into it!

The Bridgeport Arts Center is a very cool place- it's a huge warehouse filled with an assortment of art studios, galleries, even a funky furniture shop. Sometimes they have public events and if you hear of one happening while you're in town, we recommend checking it out! Always a great time.
