Cerro Gordo National Park Just at the back of our apartments The actual trail is about 300 meters long with an easy to medium difficulty rating and takes about 15 minutes. Once you get to the tower you have spectacular coastal views of Nerja in one direction and La Herradura in the other. There is also a pretty well-rated restaurant up there or you can just bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view.

Blacon de Europa During the summer, this area is the scene of many concerts and plays, and is always full of people having their evening ‘paseo.’ All big celebrations in Nerja seem to begin or end here.

The magnificent Nerja Caves – Cuevas de Nerja – are a series of huge caverns stretching for almost five kilometres and home to the world’s largest stalagmite, a 32 metre high column measuring 13 metres by 7 metres at its base.
There are three Galleries – Show Gallery, Upper Gallery and New Gallery – with each gallery containing a number of Halls.
The Upper Gallery and New Gallery contain many of the prehistoric cave paintings, but tourist access to these areas is limited to special groups.

If you are interested in chartering a boat for a few days, this is the best place to look. Or, maybe you just want to take a boat excursion for an hour or two around the Cerro Gordo Marine Reserve and to the hidden coves along the coastline, which can also be arranged.
There are several diving clubs based at Marina del Este and good snorkelling from the adjoining Playa de los Berengueles, near to the car park.
