See the chart house over, the refurbished officer’s cabins & their wardroom. Get down amongst the powerful reciprocating steam engines. Ask a guide to explain how things work. Visitors can also inspect in what was the crew's mess a fascinating collection of nautical exhibits & memorabilia of the past, recording aspects of Australia's heritage.

The site covers some 2.7 hectares and includes historic buildings recognised by Heritage Victoria and the National Trust, piers, jetties, slipways and large open spaces. The precinct is open to the public for educational, tourism and recreational activities that celebrates and preserves our maritime history.
