My two favorite sushi places are really close to you! Hako is good and fresh. It is in a strip mall so this is not the one to pick if you want to walk around and make this part of your night downtown. If, however, you want some good sushi, I love this place. It is also right next to the closest grocery store.

This place is on Glenwood South so it is in the middle of good nightlife. It also has huge rolls (by one get one) so it is economical. I really like sitting on the bar side or on the patio.

Best desserts ever. Cool vibe. Sit at the U-shaped bar. It is only two blocks away. If there is a wait, put your name on the list and then go across the street to Crafty Beer and have wine or beer there while you wait to be called to dinner.

HIGHLY recommend for brunch but also really great food at every meal.
Date night spot.
You at least need to visit the shop upstairs. This is a cool place. It used to be a Piggly Wiggly grocery store.
My favorite lunch is the spinach burger but on sourdough.
Their fish is great. They also have super early bird specials, wine specials, etc.
